We are seeking an inspiring and experienced Veterinarian to lead our MSPCA-Angell clinic at Essex Technical School located in Danvers, Massachusetts.
Angell, founded in 1915, is recognized internationally as a leader in animal medicine and has the reputation as one of the finest veterinary teaching hospitals in North America. Angell serves the greater Boston and scenic New England area as a primary care facility, a 24-hour emergency hospital, and as a tertiary referral center. Angell offered the very first veterinary internship in the world beginning in 1941, running continuously to present day. Angell was instrumental in establishing specialty veterinary medicine. Our hospital has a long history of providing training not only to veterinary interns and residents but also to veterinary students and the veterinary community at large.
Angell has partnered with Essex North Shore Agricultural and Technical High School (Essex Tech) for the purpose of establishing a veterinary assistant program. This partnership will culminate in the opening of a not-for-profit veterinary clinic in August or September of 2019. Located at the Essex Tech Danvers complex, the veterinary assistant program will offer a rigorous academic curriculum combined with experiential training in the newly renovated, on-site veterinary clinic managed by Angell clinicians.
This is a full time position requiring veterinary leadership to oversee this new Essex Tech program. This newly created position, will be responsible for oversight of the practice manager and veterinary technicians, and support the instructors for Essex Tech students in training, You would work onsite at the Essex Agricultural and Technical High School in Danvers, as a general practitioner in the new veterinary clinic creating a community practice and providing the students with hands on instruction in the clinic. The goal is for the students upon graduation, to transition into a veterinary clinic as a veterinary assistant, receptionist, or attendant or continue their education to become a veterinary technician.
We are looking for a Veterinarian who is capable, confident, and knowledgeable in the areas of medicine, routine surgery and basic dentistry. This is a unique opportunity for a Veterinarian who enjoys teaching, being a mentor, bringing new skills to the lives of high school students, as well as the animals and clients served in our community.
Candidates must have a DVM and be eligible to obtain a license to practice veterinary medicine in Massachusetts. A minimum of 5 years of experience with excellent surgical skills and experience in dental. Clinical teaching experience is a plus.

The AAMC is a full service 24-hour facility that employs over 300 people and cares for approximately 80,000 cases annually. We serve Boston and the greater New England area as a primary care facility, a 24- hour emergency hospital, and as a tertiary referral center. The veterinary staff is composed of 55 senior staff, 17 interns, and 13 residents.
