Veterinary Receptionist Job Duties Include:
-Answering calls, checking messages
-Scheduling appointments, calling to confirm appointments
-Taking payment and balancing cash drawer at the end of the day, printing daily reports
-Communicating status reports on hospitalized or boarded animals Pay is negotiable but starting range is $10-14/hour Veterinary Assistant Job Duties Include:
-Checking in of appointments and obtaining medical history and patient vitals
-Drawing up vaccines, trimming nails, restraining dogs and cats
-Care of dogs and cats boarding at our facility
-Cleaning, mopping, laundry
-More advanced duties can be performed depending on experience level; many of our assistants perform venipuncture, assist with anesthesia monitoring and provide client education Pay is negotiable but starting range is $10-14/hour Veterinary Technician Job Duties Include:
-Above duties listed under Veterinary Assistant PLUS
-Obtaining samples for laboratory testing
-Induction, intubation and maintenance of anesthesia
-IV, urinary catheter placement
-Obtaining dental and survey radiographs
-Client education including surgery/hospitalization discharges
-Preparation of estimates for services, input of charges
-Performance of complete dental scale and polish
-More advanced duties can be taken on depending on experience and aptitude including inventory management, staff scheduling and maintenance of AAHA training. Must be comfortable using computers, learning medical record software and have a professional appearance and demeanor. There is a physical component to this job and applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on their feet all day.
