Our hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician. Located just north of Downtown Vancouver we are built on the inspiration of helping and healing. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will be partnering with the Principal Doctor and Practice Manager supporting key duties - setting up specialized surgical equipment for procedures, phlebotomy, placing catheters, inducing and maintaining anesthesia during surgery, monitoring patient recovery, and performing treatments on day cases and other miscellaneous technician duties including training new and current employees, maintaining hospital equipment and written procedures, and performing technical skills in rooms, surgery, and reception. Strong communication skills are a must along with a solid skillset of technical skills. You are a leader within the hospital and are seeking someone who has a true passion for the industry and has a desire to expand on your skills and knowledge.
Duties to include:
- Administering medications
- Inducing anesthesia
- Assisting in surgical procedures
- Taking pulse rates and temperature
- Performing catheterization
- Collecting blood samples from animals
