Shall be a US citizen and possess a valid US passport DEA/USDA Ability to obtain Secret clearance Degree from AVMA accredited institution of medicine Shall be licensed as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M or V.M.D.) in a minimum of one (1) state within the United States Shall have a minimum experience of two (2) years as a veterinarian in a private practice or the US military Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Excellent problem-solving skills with an analytical thought process. Shall have knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations they undergo (this includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods) Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization, including knowledge and working experience in documentation and reporting skills, with experience in maintaining canine health records and canine international health certificates. Shall have experience with a microchip program that scans, reads, and tracks canines. Shall be willing to live and work in conflict/combat areas or similar hazardous environments

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for canine health and welfare.
• Responsible for canine emergency care, preventative care and the treatment of any illness or injury.
• Responsible for diagnosing and treating disease dysfunctions and injuries of canines.
• Examine the canines to determine the nature of disease or injury and treat the animal surgically or medically. This includes operating diagnostic equipment such as radiographic and ultrasound equipment and interpret the resulting images.
• Test canines for diseases and inoculate against diseases and disorders and advise handlers/trainers about sanitary measures, feeding and general care to promote health of the canines.
• Establish and conduct quarantine and testing procedures preventing the spread of diseases to other animals or to humans while complying with applicable Federal regulations.
• Responsible for distribution of preventative canine medications, ordering veterinarian and canine supplies. Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining current and accurate canine health records.
• Inspect animal housing and other canine spaces to determine cleanliness and adequacy.
• Train and supervise workers who handle and care for canines as necessary canine safety training for canine handlers.
• Work effectively and independently as well with full capabilities to give medical advice telephonically to staff Veterinarian Technicians operating in remote locations.
