TLC First Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician or CVT to join our growing team. We are a busy, one doctor small animal and exotic practice that integrates holistic modalities and approaches with Western medicine to provide our patients the best options and care.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the field, ideally two years, but a combination of work experience and education may qualify the right candidate (CVT is a PLUS!). Qualified candidates will be seeking long-term employment with a desire to build long-lasting relationships with our staff, clients, and their pets. Applicant must be compassionate, self-motivated, and dependable with an eye for attention to detail. Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.

Duties include

• client interaction and education,
• venipuncture and IV catheter placement
• nursing care
• in-house laboratory procedures (fecal/ UA/ cytology /CBC/ chem)
• digital radiographs
• filling prescriptions
• anesthesia induction along with monitoring and recovery
• surgical prep and assistance
• performing dental prophylaxis
• technician appointments
• general housekeeping of the hospital.

Although this is a permanent, full-time position, we are currently on a modified work schedule (doing curbside drop off appointments) due to COVID-19. Hours should be expected to increase in the future as the pandemic threat recedes. Our current schedule is Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8am - 6pm (although we're always here later until notes and work is completed) and Tuesdays from 8:30am - 5pm (candidates should expect to work between 32 to 35 hours per week). Compensation is based on experience.
