Position Summary
The Assistant Operations Director of the Animal Research Facility maintains and manages all animal resources facility (ARF) space assigned to the ARF, provides supports, instruction, and advice to researchers that requires the use of animals. Performs specialized, diverse work activities and coordinate solutions, working independently, solely supporting the operations, maintenance, repair, upkeep, inventory tracking, and refurbishing activities related to the Animal Research Facility (ARF). Will also provide basic instruction on how to use the instruments in the research facility. The Assistant Operations Director is also responsible for safety and compliance.
Starting annual salary for this position will be between $80,000 and $95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in biology, animal science or related field
In lieu of the education requirement, additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year for year basis may be substituted
5 years of experience in a laboratory animal resource facility
Registered Veterinary Technician or Laboratory Animal Technologist
