1-to-1 teaching & coaching in a robust variety of surgeries.
As an ER DVM with AEC you determine the rate of flow at which we see patients. This role serves a dual purpose and regulates the practice when the MDVM is not present.
Additionally, AEC team members have access to our full-sized kitchen, guaranteed to be stocked with complimentary coffee and snacks—and the smell of delicious treats from one of our talented doctors with a passion for baking! Overnight DVMs can rest & relax in the dedicated lounge with private bathroom and bedroom.
Schedule: Weeknights 6P-2A or 8P-8A and weekend swings 2P-2A.
Our Team
Our team consists of 7 Emergency DVM’s: 5 full-time and 2 part time. We employ 32 support staff comprised of 13 full-time and 10 part-time technicians and 7 full-time and 2 part-time receptionists.
We are a tight-knit group with a welcoming culture. We enjoy celebrating each others’ successes and show special recognition to all team members during Vet Employee Appreciation week each year. Our technicians work very well with all DVMs and all our DVMs are enthusiastic about teaching & mentoring. We also prioritize regular communication across the practice to maintain our tight-knit culture.
Retention is very important to us at AEC. Many of the team members have been here for double-digit years, and for some AEC has been their first and only "work home!"
We have been serving the needs of our community for over 48 years. Our mission has continuously been to provide high-quality veterinary care, while keeping costs reasonable.
That dedication was especially demonstrated two years ago when a mandatory relocation required us to leave no stone unturned and find land to build our new facility, and allow us to continue to provide that care to the pets of the Inland Empire.
The Hospital
Animal Emergency Clinic is an AAHA accredited emergency hospital. We opened our doors in 1974 to provide emergency urgent care, and critical care veterinary services to the communities of Riverside, Redlands, Yucaipa, Moreno Valley, and San Bernardino areas.
We offer: * State-of-the-art Anesthesiology and monitoring, including blood testing * Oxygen therapy * Non-invasive pulse oximetry * In-house laboratory * Digital radiology * Ultrasound * Therapeutic laser treatments

NVA Overview:NVA is a growing community of general practice clinics, emergency hospitals, equine practices, specialty hospitals, and pet resorts across five countries. Our doctors and pet care teams share best practices, medical knowledge, innovation, and insights. DVM or equivalent
The veterinary profession isn’t like any other—it’s the only field predicated on the love of a patient who can’t tell you what’s hurting and can only look to you for help. It takes a special kind of person to do that job, or the jobs supporting that job. NVA doesn’t create those special people—we find them, cultivate them, and give them resources and opportunities to do what only they can do. Whether treating patients, managing a pet resort, or serving hospitals from NVA’s Support Center, NVA’s animal professionals are caring people, united by a love of animals. NVA is proud to honor that connection and is committed to serving our team members by providing them with the tools, support, and freedom to be the professionals they’ve always wanted to be.
Compassion-First and NVA recognize that we share deep-rooted values and priorities. For years, our dedication to Specialty and Emergency medicine has been a common background.
Our groups have long shared the belief that the best patient care comes from championing hospitals in their local communities and supporting the practices and culture that have made them successful. We believe in empowering veterinarians and their teams with deeper resources so they can do more of what’s already working.
Combining our strengths gives us the opportunity to make a lasting and positive impact on the profession, our people, and the care of animals.
As one of the only dedicated Specialty and Emergency groups in the industry, NVA Compassion-First is the trusted partner of hospital teams who are looking for more—more resources to advance their medicine, a greater sense of belonging, and increased opportunities to care for their patients, clients and people.
