Location
Located on the Columbia River, our practice is surrounded by a river, gorgeous views and a paved 10-mile walking path. The high desert is to the east with the cascade mountains to the west. We are located in a private, serene area which contributes to a peaceful working environment; however, we are still a quick drive to local amenities. The Dalles, Oregon is located on the north bank of the Columbia River. The city is a strategic home base for year-round recreation. Water sport enthusiasts will find boating, excellent fishing, and one of the finest wind surfing and white-water kayaking areas in the United States. Local brew pubs, wineries and entertainment abound. To the east are substantial opportunities to camp, fish, hike, and sight see. To the west, ski enthusiasts can challenge the ski slopes of magnificent Mt. Hood. The Pacific coast is just a couple hours drive. Nearby Portland, Oregon is a great place to explore with amazing food, breweries, music, galleries, museums, sports and more!

Columbia Veterinary Hospital’s mission is to provide exceptional and modern veterinary care. ?We value our clients’ love for their pets and animals and make every effort to ensure we provide the highest quality patient care. Columbia Veterinary Hospital has been proudly serving The Dalles, Oregon area, since 2012 and with our recently built, 5600 sq. ft. facility we can provide the best our area has to offer. Our new hospital houses our top-of-the-line equipment such as a NAVI ultrasound, surgical ligasure unit, dental Xray, and ready-to-go ambulatory vehicles, we deliver the best quality service to our clients. Our hospital includes a temperature controlled large animal suite with padded flooring. We also have a dedicated small animal dental area, fully sterile surgical suite, dog and cat-specific rooms, a big open treatment area, an isolation ward, and our own full Pharmacy.

What You’ll Be Working On
Build and maintain client relationships
Diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of small and mixed animal cases
Perform general wellness exams, urgent care and surgeries
Maintain a high level of client communication and patient care
Mentor, guide, and utilize exceptional support staff
Maintain a positive work environment and promote teamwork
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited program is required
Being licensed or able to become licensed in the state of Oregon and Washington
Surgical proficiency or skills are required
Knowledge of general practice for mixed animals is highly desired
Comfortable with pocket pets or willingness to learn
Certified in chiropractic, acupuncture, or herbal medicine is a bonus!
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities
Team player with a demonstrated passion for continuous learning
