Tired of the daily caseload of vaccinations, but not quite ready for the unknown of critical care cases? Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital , located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is looking to hire Veterinarians for our new Urgent Care service line. Perfect for an experienced General Practice doctor who would like to extend their current reach, or an Emergency DVM ready to begin easing back a little.
This position will include care and services of non-critical cases, to include skin lacerations, vomiting, bite wounds, ear infections, eye and skin issues, etc.
This position offers a set schedule of 3 days per week; Tues & Wed 1p-11p and Sat 11a-11p. No overnights!
Highly trained support staff and registered veterinary technicians will be working alongside our doctors. In addition, consultation with the specialists at NIVES is easy and a quick phone call away. We are 95% canine and feline, with 5% exotics (zoo animal).

NIVES serves the pet owners and veterinarians in the tri-state region of NE Indiana, SE Michigan and NW Ohio. The new urgent care facility is located adjacent to our main specialty building, separated by a shared parking lot. Our call center will funnel cases to the appropriate service line, however urgent care cases still have the added advantage of direct transfer to the critical care hospital for overnight care if needed.
The new urgent care service line will offer many of the same diagnostics onsite:
Digital radiography
Ultrasound
In-house lab including standard full blood analysis, I-Stat handheld analyzer, point of care glucometers
Microscope for cytology
Noninvasive blood pressure monitoring
In addition, our specialty & critical care facility offers state of the art care by providing:
CT
Endoscopy
Snyder ICU unit
Companion LASER
Chemotherapy
In-house lab including coagulation monitoring (PT/PTT), microscope and blood typing & cross-matching
In hospital blood donor program

Minimum of 1 year experience within Emergency, Urgent or General Practice medicine.
