Dream job for someone that loves redwood forests, green farmland, and the beach. Veterinarians in this multi-doctor practice provide ambulatory services and work out of two different clinics. There is great support with experienced technicians and office staff to allow you to focus on practicing veterinary medicine. Specialists in surgery, internal medicine, and sports medicine come to the clinics for referral cases. Xrays and ultrasounds are available at each location, with endoscopy and other equipment shared between the hospitals. Excellent mentorship for a new graduate, but all experience levels welcome. Caseload is primarily horses with some small ruminants. Please email for more information: rannis@northcoastvet.com
North Coast Veterinary Hospitals are located in northwest California along the coastline and approximately 100 miles south of the Oregon border. The temperature rarely goes over 75 degrees and freezing is unusual. Green farmlands start at the redwood forests and extend to the beach. The hospitals provide medical care to the horses and small ruminants in the region. A total of 3-4 veterinarians, 3-4 technicians, a hospital manager and office staff provide medical care out of the college town (Cal Poly Humboldt) of Arcata, CA and Fortuna, CA. Each hospital has approximately 5 stalls that are used for hospitalization. Equipment available includes digital radiography, digital ultrasound, endoscopy, shockwave, etc. Patients are seen both at the hospital and at the farm. Specialists in surgery, internal medicine, critical care, and sports medicine assist with cases at the hospital and are available for consultation as needed.
