We offer a competitive compensation package with starting salary from $140,000-$180,000/year depending on experience. The ideal candidate is a natural hard worker who is deeply concerned with pet welfare and willing to support other veterinarians in delivering excellent care and treatment. An Associate Doctor of Veterinary Medicine will provide preventive care, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of pets.
Objectives
Devote knowledge, skills, and energy to the treatment of sick and injured pets
Serve as a primary source of information for pet owners and care providers in the community
Continue to learn the latest veterinary treatments and procedures
Teach, coach and mentor others in the profession with a welcoming compassionate attitude
Support the practices other veterinarians with their diagnoses and surgical procedures
Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform regular and preventive health examinations of pets
Assess pets to determine the nature of their disease or injury
Obtain relevant information and history from clients, and maintain proper and complete medical records
Implement and coordinate treatment plans for pets, and provide detailed explanations for their owners
Educate clients about preventive care, pet health needs, hospital services and other related information
Manage emergency medical situations by stabilizing a pet’s condition and determining whether a referral is necessary
Spay and neuter cats and dogs
Dress wounds of injured animals
Prescribe medication
Ensure local, state and federal laws are followed, including proper maintenance of the controlled substance inventory log
Understand and follow state guidelines regarding duties of veterinary assistants and licensed veterinary technicians
Train new employees in how to perform effectively in the clinic environment
Attend lectures, conferences, or continuing education courses

This valuable clinical experience will let you take what you've learned in the classroom and put it to the test in an animal hospital. Our student job program is designed to allow students, from their 2nd year and up, under veterinary supervision, to practice the problem-solving, technical, and communication skills that they have acquired during their clinical preparation.
